At the age of 19, Ko Jung-Woo (Byun Yo-Han) was a promising high school student on the verge of entering a prestigious medical school when he was abruptly arrested for the murder of two female classmates. Despite his arrest, Ko Jung-Woo’s memory of the events was clouded, and the bodies of the victims were never found. After spending a decade in prison, he returns to his hometown, intending to start afresh. However, mysterious occurrences prevent him from leaving, drawing him into an unsettling web of secrets.

In his quest for answers, Ko Jung-Woo encounters Detective No Sang-Cheol (Ko Jun), a former elite detective whose life was shattered when his bride was violently murdered on their wedding day. Once a top graduate of the police academy, No Sang-Cheol’s career nosedived after the tragedy, leading to his transfer to the Muchon Town police station. The detective, compelled by personal demons and unresolved cases, decides to revisit Ko Jung-Woo’s case.

Choi Na-Kyeom (Go Bo-Gyeol), a former classmate of Ko Jung-Woo, has long harbored feelings for him. She remained a steadfast supporter throughout his imprisonment and now dreams of a future together with him after his release.

Meanwhile, Ha Seol (Kim Bo-Ra), who took a hiatus from medical school, finds herself traveling across the country on her scooter. Her journey unexpectedly leads her to Muchon Town, where she decides to settle temporarily while working part-time at a local restaurant.
